  • Pavement Preservation

The Florida Pavement Preservation Council, an affiliate of the National Center for Pavement Preservation, supports education and outreach assistance to local agencies throughout Florida for pavement preservation and asset management.

  • Traffic Signals and Roadway Lighting

Prior to 2000, traffic signals and highway lighting on the state highway system (except limited access highways) were maintained by local agencies. Through a joint effort between FACERS and FDOT, agreements were developed providing for FDOT to reimburse local agencies for the cost of maintaining signals and roadway lighting on the state highway system.

  • Highway Safety

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has identified Florida as a “Focus State” for which a concerted effort is being made to address severe highway crashes.
